The Magpie Mine dates back from 1740. It's situated near to the village of Sheldon in the Peak district.
The Mine has links to John Taylor the Cornish mining engineer, he was bought in to reopen the Mine in 1839 after well documented problems!!.
Production continued into the 20th century.
